The event calendar shows upcoming club events. Select a view then use the navigation buttons to move
between dates. Click on the event to view more information, including the event description, times,
location, fees and any rules regarding attendance; you can also register for events from this screen.
Click on the magnifying glass on the toolbar to see search and filter options.
Members of Jean Sampson Scott Greater New York Chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) are invited to come in person to our New York City Digitization Center for a 30-minute session to digitally preserve your own records using our state-of-the-art Copibook scanner.
NYG&B staff will guide you through the image capture technologies that we use in our digital preservation work. Participants will receive a free external drive that contains their own achievable, high-resolution digital files to take home. This is a free event but registration is required.
Last May, AAHGS-NY members visited the African Burial Ground National Monument to pay respect to the New Yorkers who built this city. If you were unable to attend with our group, you have the opportunity to visit with the African Atlantic Genealogical Society who has graciously extended an invitation for our members to join them as they reflect on the lives of those interred at the site.
Space may be limited. Early registration is encouraged.
